Recently I went past the house where I used to live. I was very happy to see that except for the plants getting bigger, almost everything in the garden remained the same. Experiencing the combination of new growth with the familiar constants really warmed my heart. I love this garden and when I moved it was hard to let it go.
I have been spending a lot of time walking through my beloved Chinatown lately. It is such a vibrant and special part of the city. I love the food, markets, colours, smells and architecture. It is the best to experience it early in the morning on the walk to work.
There are few things I love to do more on a Saturday morning than heading straight for the Trout Lake Farmers market. It is so magical to start my weekend filled with friends, fresh veggie goodness, buckwheat crepes, basil lychee lemonade, sunshine, and time beside the lake. So much to be thankful for.
The cityscape is changing once again. This time it's personal. There is a giant skyscraper proposed for the little space between these two buildings next to my office. The new building will be 32 stories high and will block my view of the beautiful and lovely Marine Building. I snapped a shot before everything starts to change in October. Surreal.
It has rained a lot this summer. Many people including myself have complained and asked when summer would finally, finally arrive. Now that the sun is finally shining we can really enjoy how green and lush the city is. These beautiful plants are the silver linings of all those dreaded July rain clouds.
